Washington will once again be tested on the road as the Redskins head down to the Big Easy for a game in one of the most hostile stadiums in the league.
The Washington Redskins will go marching down into the Mercedes-Benz Superdome for a Sunday afternoon matchup against the New Orleans Saints for Week 11 action.
The game will be televised on FOX with a 1:00 p.m. EST kickoff.
The Redskins will take yet another trip into one of the most difficult stadiums to play in the NFL. The Saints have won four straight games at home. Their only loss in the Superdome came at the hands of the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots in a 36-20 Week 2 defeat.
It's no secret the Superdome can get loud. Many quarterbacks, like Chicago's Mitchell Trubisky in Week 7, were forced to use silent counts because of the deafening chants by New Orleans fans.
Luckily for Washington, playing in loud stadiums is nothing new. The Redskins lost a narrow contest at Arrowhead Stadium, the current record holder for the loudest stadium. In Week 9, Washington defeated the Seahawks in CenturyLink stadium, the previous holder of the record.
The Saints' defense will be the ones pumping up the Black and Gold crowd, and for good reason. After a horrendous start to 2017, the New Orleans defense seems to finally have found its footing.
In the season debut, Minnesota quarterback Sam Bradford carved up the Saints' secondary, passing for 346 yards and three touchdowns. A week later, New England quarterback Tom Brady threw just nine incompletions in 39 attempts and recorded a whopping 447 yards.
Just when the season looked lost on a stumbling defense, the Saints changed the narrative. In Week 3, the defense shut down Carolina quarterback Cam Newton, picking off the former MVP three times and preventing a single touchdown through the air. A week later, the Miami Dolphins failed to even get into scoring range and were shut out 20-0.
The Saints generated four turnovers against the Detroit Lions and held Tampa Bay to 200 total offensive yards.

While the Saints have been rolling on defense, the offense continues its steady production, led by quarterback Drew Brees. The Saints' 38-year-old quarterback remains the most consistent cog in the New Orleans machine, missing just two games since coming to the Big Easy in 2006. Brees holds the record for most completed passes, passing yards and passing touchdowns among active quarterbacks and ranks third all-time in each of those categories.
Behind Brees, running backs Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara have been sharing carries. Ingram leads the charge on the ground, with more than 500 yards on the season. Meanwhile, Kamara has proven himself as a worthy backup after the Saints parted ways with Adrian Peterson. Kamara makes the most impact catching check down passes in the backfield and stands as the team's third-leading receiver in yards and second-leading receiver in catches.
The game in New Orleans will be critical for both teams. While Philadelphia currently leads the NFC, a handful of other teams are scrambling for a playoff spot as the sun sets on the 2017 season. New Orleans will be fighting Atlanta and Carolina for a ticket to the post-season, and the Redskins will need any win they can get as they battle with the Cowboys and Eagles in the NFC East.
The Redskins are 17-8 all-time against the Saints and are riding a two-game winning streak in a series that dates back to 1967.
