Redskins Update Depth Chart For Week 2

The Washington Redskins on Tuesday released their second unofficial depth chart for the 2015 regular season. Here's some notes and analysis from Redskins.com's Andrew Walker.*

OFFENSE: - Coaches listed no changes on the offensive side of the unofficial depth chart this week. At wide receiver, with DeSean Jackson out a few weeks with a hamstring issue, this gives guys like Ryan Grant, Jamison Crowder and Rashad Ross even more chances to step up and try to fill that void, beginning on Sunday against the St. Louis Rams.

DEFENSE:

  • The changes this week on the Redskins' unofficial depth chart on the defensive side of the ball are all in the secondary. At the second cornerback spot, Bashaud Breeland returns from suspension to replace starter Chris Culliver, who is suspended this week. Listed as the No. 2 cornerback in that spot is David Amerson
  • At strong safety, Trenton Robinson – listed as a backup at free safety a week ago – is now listed as the starter, due to Duke Ihenacho's broken/dislocated wrist. Jeron Johnson remains the backup at strong safety.
    • At free safety, Dashon Goldson, the defensive captain, sticks to his starter spot, and with Robinson moving to strong safety, rookie Kyshoen Jarrett moves up to the primary backup role.

SPECIAL TEAMS: - Dustin Hopkins makes his first appearance after replacing Kai Forbath as the team’s kicker on Monday.

  • At kickoff returner, Rashad Ross is now listed as the No. 4. Ross, who was inactive last week, could likely get some reps at both receiver and returner with Jackson out.
    • At punt returner, Jamison Crowder officially is now listed as the No. 1, ahead of Andre Roberts. Those spots were flip flopped on last week's unofficial depth chart.
