Exciting New Scratch Ticket Takes the Field On July 20
The Washington Redskins and the Virginia Lottery are partnering for a second year with a new Redskins scratch-off ticket. "Redskins Legacy" will feature three $1 million top prizes, as well as second-chance prizes including field level season tickets for 10 years, luxury suite tickets, trips to Redskins away games including the Dec. 19 game in Dallas and much more.
"Redskins Legacy" is the 2010 season version of last year's "Redskins Mania" scratch game. However, Lottery players and Redskins fans will notice two big differences: the look of the ticket and the price. Each "Redskins Legacy" ticket will display one of seven historic Washington Redskins helmet or anniversary logos. This year's price is $10.
"Redskins Legacy" will be available at Virginia Lottery retailers beginning July 20. Players can scratch to win prizes ranging from $10 to $1 million (paid as an annuity over 25 years). Even if a ticket does not win, players can enter it in second-chance drawings for dream prizes. A list of the many prizes available is at www.valottery.com.

Nearly 95 cents of each dollar spent on the Virginia Lottery by players goes back to the Commonwealth in the form of contributions to education, prizes and retailer commissions. Since 1999, all Virginia Lottery profits have been designated solely to K-12 public school education in the Commonwealth. In that time, the Lottery has turned over more than $4 billion for Virginia's public schools. The latest annual profits of $439.1 million currently represent about 7 percent of state funding for public education in Virginia. In 21 years, the Lottery has sold more than $21.1 billion in tickets, awarded more than $1.1 billion in retailer commissions and paid more than $11.6 billion in prizes to players.
