Redskins running back Robert Kelley is proving the team made the right decision in sticking with him in the starting lineup, as his three-touchdown performance has him up for Rookie of the Week honors.

"Fat Rob" just kept running and the Green Bay Packers simply couldn't keep up in the fourth quarter of the Washington Redskins' 42-24 victory on Sunday night.

While Redskins running back Robert Kelley had just 56 rushing yards on 15 carries through the first three quarters, he caught fire in the final frame and finished the game with career highs in rushing yards (137) and rushing touchdowns (three).

Now the Tulane product is up for Rookie of the Week honors. You can vote for him here.

Not only did Kelley rip right through the heart of the Packers' defense, his three rushing touchdowns – in only his third NFL start – tied the scoring output from his final 20 college games.

As for that yardage total (it was his first 100-yard game since high school), it wouldn't have been so high if he just quit upon first contact.

"You know, he turns two-yard gains into three-yard gains and four-yard gains," Redskins head coach Jay Gruden said. "He just keeps moving the pile, keeps moving his feet and does a great job. He's a physical runner and obviously his ball security has been outstanding, knock-on-wood. There's some clean shots that they had on him but he was able to hold onto the ball and get tough yards. And then he's just patient and then he hit the big one there at the end of the game and put the game out of reach. So we couldn't be more pleased with Robert."

Make the right decision and vote for "Fat Rob."
