Redskins receiver Aldrick Robinson did not get targeted in the game tonight until five minutes remained in the third quarter.

Robinson then took over for the final 20 minutes, hauling in six passes for 104 yards and a touchdown.

He started things off with a 15-yard comeback route on third down, which he turned into a 49-yard touchdown.  Robinson explained in the locker room after the game that this is a route the offense runs frequently in practice.

"That's just carrying it over from practice to the game," he said.  "I had the option on the play to either take it deep or [cut back], and I saw the safety peeking in there a little bit, so I just sat it down.

"It was third down, so I just tried to be safe with it and ended up scoring."

Robinson said the ball was tipped on the play, and he needed to make an adjustment on his route to make the reception.

"I stayed on it and concentrated, made the catch and turned around," he said.  "I saw that I had a lot of space, so I just went to where the most [open field] was, and made the play.  Touchdown."

Robinson was thrilled with his big numbers, but credited quarterback Kirk Cousins for his performance tonight in front of his hometown crowd.

"Kirk ran the game well and executed everything the coaches called," he said.  "The quarterbacks know when the receivers are going to sit it down, based on the coverage, so he did a good job with that. The receivers caught the ball well and we just made it look good."

Despite his raw attributes, Robinson has seen only limited opportunity before tonight.  He joked after the game that he was a little out of shape for explosive plays, and may need more chances in the future.

"I was kind of sore when I ran that, because I haven't really opened up in a long time," he said with a smile.  "It felt good to get that space in the open field.

"Once I see where I want to go, I'm there.  I'm a game time player."
