Hey Redskins fans, Sarah here! I'm writing to you from our final stop on Military Appreciation Tour 57, Bahrain! Bahrain is a beautiful island in the Middle East and is home to many military families. In the past three days I've had the opportunity to meet so many service men and women from all branches including their families which made this stop very different than Kuwait.
My favorite memory in Bahrain was doing pop up performances for the troops as they were about to go on their shifts! We surprised them with some of our favorite routines in hopes of lifting their spirits and bringing joy to their deployment. I received many "thank you"s but all I could say back was "no, thank YOU"! It truly is an honor to be able to give back to our military through my platform as a Washington Redskins Cheerleader and I am so blessed to be on this adventure.
This is my second journey on a military appreciation tour and once again I am leaving a more humble and inspired woman than I was before. Not many people can say they had the opportunity to visit with and perform for the troops fighting for our freedom overseas. Their perseverance and dedication to the mission inspires me to work harder in my graduate studies in National Security and really has me motivated to serve my country beyond this Tour. You could say that for myself personally, Tour 57 is a service to be continued!
Thank you,
Sarah
