On his offseason:
"I have been working out really hard and trying to get in shape."
On his mindset coming into training camp:
"I feel good about camp. I am excited. Every time you have change as a veteran guy you get to see where you stand. I am excited because we have a new coach in Jim Zorn and I want to see how our team turns out this year."
On this training camp compared to recent years:
"The tempo is a little faster. Obviously, coach has been with Coach Mike Holmgren in the West Coast System. They bring their high tempo, so as a defense you need to get set a little quicker. It seems like practice is a little quicker."
On his boxing hobby:
"It is just a different way to motivate yourself to get in shape. It just helps me to stay in shape without overly killing my legs."
On how the team can keep improving:
"To repeat the same thing and get better. I am self-motivated to win and help my team be better. You need to win because that is what it is about."
On if the team knew why he was not at OTAs:
"I was in contact with Vinny Cerrato. They know where I was. It is not like I was just missing. You can't just be missing. They knew I would come back in shape and I would be ready."
On his feelings about the season:
"I feel really good and I am excited about this season. We have a tough schedule early. We play two of the conference teams on the road. I am hoping to have a great camp so we can come out on fire. We need to start off fast this year. I don't know how fast we have started in the past, but I know it would be great this year if we could start off fast."
