With the Redskins' secondary plagued with injuries, the Redskins have re-signed 10-year veteran safety Omar Stoutmire, the team announced on Thursday.
Stoutmire was at Redskins Park on Wednesday finalizing the deal. He takes the roster spot of cornerback John Eubanks, who was released.
Stoutmire, 5-11 and 205 pounds, played in two games with the Redskins earlier this season but was released on Oct. 1. He also spent the entire offseason with the team.
For his career, Stoutmire has played in 133 games and recorded 418 total tackles and seven interceptions.
Stoutmire is a 10-year NFL veteran who was originally selected in the seventh round of the 1997 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys out of Fresno State.
Stoutmire had a five-year stint with the New York Giants, spent the 2005 season with the Redskins, and then played one year with the New Orleans Saints. He re-signed with the Redskins last March.
