Tanya Snyder, wife of Redskins owner Daniel M. Snyder and NFL Breast Cancer Awareness Spokesperson, will be the keynote speaker at the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce Women in Business/Leadership Luncheon on Friday, Oct. 26 at the National Conference Center in Lansdowne, Va. from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Mrs. Snyder will discuss her leadership efforts in creating the national platform for the NFL and Zeta Tau Alpha's (ZTA) THINK-PINK!® breast cancer awareness campaign, in addition to her role as the NFL's spokesperson for the league's "A Crucial Catch" breast cancer awareness initiative.
Mrs. Snyder and ZTA started the THINK-PINK!® campaign for breast cancer awareness in 1999. At the time, the Redskins were the only team in the league to participate. Thirteen years later, 28 of the 32 NFL teams participate.
Mrs. Snyder, who was instrumental in the foundation and inception of the Redskins' Women of Washington, the team's official women's fan club, will also talk about the organization and its initiatives, as well as her involvement with the NFL in creating the league's women's apparel line.
"We are very proud to host Tanya Snyder for this special luncheon that will help raise awareness in the battle against a disease that strikes too many women in our community," Chamber President Tony Howard said. "Mrs. Snyder is not only a breast cancer survivor, she is a leader and a role model for millions of Americans who share her passion for saving lives by raising awareness and support to help fund a cure for this disease."
