Though it's just a quarter of the way into the 2019 NFL regular season, rookie wide receiver Terry McLaurin has already made an impression.

After a couple of breakout performances against Philadelphia and Dallas, McLaurin became the first player in league history to record five receptions and a touchdown catch in each of his first three career games during the Redskins' Week 3 loss to the Chicago Bears.

McLaurin started the year off with a bang after getting a 69 yard touchdown reception as part of a 125-yard rookie debut against the Eagles. He followed that up with five receptions for 62 yards against the Cowboys and a six-catch, 70-yard performance against the Bears on Monday Night Football.

With numbers like those, the third-round draft pick has planted his name firmly in the offensive rookie of the year discussion.

According to Chris Roling of Bleacher Report, who placed McLaurin in the lead for the award through four games, the Ohio State product's stats speak for themselves.

"He's making catches all over the field, and his numbers hold up even though he missed a game," Roling writes.

ESPN's Bill Barnwell agrees. Having accumulated 257 yards to go along with those three scores, "it's pretty clear that Washington has a legitimate starting receiver," Barnwell said.

Above all else, the two acknowledged that the Redskins got a steal by getting McLaurin at No. 76 overall in April's NFL Draft.

"[He's] a third-round pick already playing like a first-rounder," Roling said.
