The Redskins opened 2010 training camp on Thursday with an abbreviated practice due to an afternoon storm. Head coach Mike Shanahan cut short the practice so as not to risk an injury on wet fields. "It's really nice to get started," Shanahan said. "I enjoyed my first practice." Albert Haynesworth did not join teammates on the practice field after failing a conditioning test. He did work with defensive coordinator Jim Haslett and defensive line coach Jacob Burney after practice. Top draft pick Trent Williams was not present at camp as negotiations continue on his rookie contract. Head coach Mike Shanahan characterized the negotiations as "close."
