Todd Wade suffered a sprained knee in Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys and his status is day to day, team officials said.
Wade hopes to test the knee in practice this week.
"I don't think it's serious," said Wade, who was seen walking in the locker room without a limp.
Asked if he thought he would miss Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Wade replied: "I hope not. If there were a game in two days, I don't know if I'd be able to go. But we'll just have to see."
The injury happened on the last play of the first half, Wade said.
"I was engaged with Greg Ellis, and as I blocked him, my left knee buckled inward," he said. "Nobody touched me."
Wade was replaced by rookie Stephon Heyer, who has seen action in three games this season.
Heyer replaced in Jon Jansen at right tackle in the Redskins' season opener vs. Miami. In Week 5 at Green Bay, Heyer came in at right tackle again after Wade suffered a groin injury.
Addressing Heyer's performance against Dallas, head coach Joe Gibbs said: "He graded out and did a real good job. It was a tough situation to get thrown in there. He's a young guy getting a chance."
Added Chris Samuels: "I really didn't know Todd was hurt until I looked up in the huddle and saw the rookie in there. I thought Stephon fought hard. He did a good job."
-- TAYLOR IS DOUBTFUL
Sean Taylor is doubtful for this Sunday's game against Tampa Bay as he continues to recover from a knee injury. Taylor continues to receive treatment for the knee.
His status will be updated weekly.
Meantime, James Thrash has shown improvement with his sprained ankle but athletic trainers want him to keep on a protective boot.
Thrash's status is questionable, although it's possible he could rejoin practice later this week.
