The Washington Redskins Cheerleaders Alumni Association (WRCAA) is proud to award this year's Junior Redskins Cheerleaders scholarship to Phoenix Smith, a second grader at Highland Park Christian Academy in Hyattsville, Md.
Phoenix was chosen based on her outstanding spirit and passion for dancing and cheering for the Washington Redskins.
Phoenix attended her first Redskins game with her father in 2014 and knew that day that she wanted to be a cheerleader for the Redskins.
"I led the cheers in my section the entire second half as the Redskins beat the Jaguars", Phoenix said.
She is also a straight "A" student at her school, and her favorite subjects are science and math.
She also loves to read, watch TV and play on her mom's iPad.
"The WRCAA is honored to help promote the sisterhood of cheerleaders and instill pride in our Washington Redskins through the Junior Redskins Cheerleaders Scholarship." said Terri Lamb, WRCAA President.
Phoenix is looking forward to a really fun season cheering for the Redskins and watching her team.
Help us to congratulate Phoenix upon her selection were (from left to right) Washington Redskins Cheerleaders Alumni Association members Kathy Craft, Michelle Baker and Pam Artis.
