Defensive end Renaldo Wynn left Saturday's Wild Card playoff game against Tampa Bay with a fractured right forearm. He did not return.

Wynn's status will be updated by team officials on Sunday. Given the severity of the injury, it's likely that Wynn's season has come to an end.

"We gave a game ball to Renaldo," head coach Joe Gibbs said after the game. "He has been a real leader for us."

Wynn has served as the defensive captain each game during the Redskins' six-game winning streak. Assistant head coach-defense Gregg Williams said that Wynn would continue to serve in that capacity through the rest of the playoffs.

Wynn suffered the injury late in the first quarter. He appeared to land awkwardly on his arm after he was flipped while chasing chase Buccaneers quarterback Chris Simms.

Wynn was carted off the field and into the locker room for X-rays.

Assistant head coach-defense Gregg Williams rotated lineman in and out of Wynn's spot. Demetric Evans saw the bulk of playing time, with Nic Clemons also coming in as part of the rotation.

Before Wynn's injury, early in the first quarter, Evans had logged a sack of Bucs quarterback Chris Simms for an 8-yard loss.
