The Washington Commanders announced today they have named Sarah Hogan as the team's coaching chief of staff. Â
Hogan joins the Commanders after serving as the director of coaching operations for the Atlanta Falcons in 2023. Hogan spent two seasons as the assistant director of coaching operations for the Falcons. Â
From 2016-20, Hogan served as coordinator of coaching operations for Atlanta. She originally joined the organization in 2015 as the coordinator of scouting administration. Â
Prior to her time in Atlanta, Hogan was the director of football operations at Georgia State University from 2010-15 under Head Coach Bill Curry (2010-12) and Head Coach Trent Miles (201315). She was a member of the GSU's football staff as they prepared for its inaugural season in 2010. Â
She spent the previous three seasons as the director of football operations at Northeastern University which discontinued its football program following its 2009 season.
Before her time at Northeastern, Hogan worked in the athletics department at Maryland University and at the campus recreation center at Georgia Tech. She interned with the New York Jets in the college scouting department. Â
Hogan received a bachelor's degree in kinesiology and sport management from James Madison University in 2004 and her master's degree in sports administration from Georgia State in 2006.
