Biography
I am an African American Austin-based visual artist from Prince George's County, Maryland. At a young age, I was encouraged to express myself in an artistic fashion. It wasn't until I moved to Austin, TX that I was introduced to a demographic in which I realized I was a minority. There, I grew a stronger appreciation for people of different backgrounds as well as my own people and culture. My artwork is a mix of oil paintings and graphic art, and primarily focuses on realism. It is inspired by everyday life experiences and various cultures. While most of my portraiture is a simple enlightening of people's emotions and their cultures, my pieces also represent social issues that affect both my audience and myself. Through those pieces, I find it vital to give a voice to the voiceless and display various expressions of emotions.
