Josh is the Managing Partner of the Washington Commanders and the Founder and Managing General Partner of Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE).
Josh is the Founder and Managing General Partner of Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE), a leading sports and entertainment platform that includes marquee franchises the Philadelphia 76ers and the New Jersey Devils, among other premier assets. In connection with the HBSE portfolio, he is the Managing Partner of the Philadelphia 76ers and the New Jersey Devils. Under his leadership, the HBSE platform has grown to include Top-10 venue, the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., the $82 million mixed-use Training Complex in Camden, NJ, the Delaware Blue Coats, the Utica Comets, renowned esports franchise Dignitas, and HBSEv, a venture fund investing in early-stage sports technology companies, among other franchises. Additionally, Josh is a General Partner of the Crystal Palace Football Club in the Premier League.
Passionate about strengthening the communities in which the teams operate, Josh, in connection with the Sixers Youth Foundation and Devils Youth Foundation, supports Newark, Camden and Philadelphia by partnering with local hospitals, youth centers, schools and food distribution centers for civic growth and relief.
Outside of HBSE, in 2022, Josh founded 26North, a next-generation, multi-asset class alternatives platform. Prior to founding 26North, Josh co-founded Apollo Global Management and spent over thirty years building the firm into the world's second-largest alternatives and largest alternative credit manager. Josh was responsible for some of the firm's most successful private equity investments, including the historic LyondellBasell transaction.
Across his platform – including through his foundation, Harris Philanthropies, Josh is committed to using a blend of philanthropic giving and impact investment to improve outcomes for underserved groups in communities where he has a deep connection. Specifically, Josh is focused on supporting vulnerable youth through sports and educational programming, championing equity and sustainable wealth creation in diverse communities and enhancing health, wellness and educational outcomes.
Josh serves on the Boards of Harvard Business School, the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, the NBA, and the NHL. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he was named a Baker Loeb Scholar, and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business with a B.S. in Economics.
Josh and his wife, Marjorie, have five children and have been married for 29 years.
