Mark McCracken is entering his seventh season with Washington and his seventh as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in 2023 after joining the team full-time at the start of the 2016 season.
McCracken joined the Washington staff after a brief stint as the Head Athletic Trainer for the AFL's Washington Valor, where he directed the team's Sports Medicine Department in advance of their inaugural season. Before joining the Valor, he spent time with Washington's training staff on three separate occasions as a Seasonal Training Assistant. He also spent time as a Summer Athletic Trainer with the Arizona Cardinals.
In 2018, McCracken was part of a staff that was named the 2018 Ed Block Training Staff of the Year. The honor is given to one training staff each season for their distinguished service to their club, community and athletic training profession.
McCracken received his Master's degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in sport pedagogy from Louisiana State in 2015 while serving as a graduate assistant for the men's tennis and men's and women's track and field teams. He received his undergraduate degree in athletic training from George Mason University in 2011.
McCracken is a Certified Athletic Trainer, and a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and Professional Football Athletic Training Society. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and Certified Performance Enhancement Specialist. He is also a licensed Active Release Therapy provider.
McCracken and his wife, Natalie, have one son, Vincent. The family resides in Leesburg, Virginia.
