Preston Biro is entering his first season with Washington and will serve as a Football Data Scientist.
Prior to working with the Commanders, Biro worked with the Detroit Lions and assisted in using data to improve fourth down decision making and advanced scouting. Prior to his time in Detroit, Biro worked as a Data Scientist and Coaching Assistant for Presbyterian College in the 2021 football season, where my primary responsibilities involved collecting and analyzing data to help the offense, as well as coaching the kickers
Biro graduated from Texas A&M University in 2018 with B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Applied Math and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2022 with a Ph.D. in Statistics. His dissertation research focused on data driven decision making in football and he has published three papers on the topic.
Biro is a native of Dallas, Texas.
