Women's History Month | Washington Commanders | Commanders.com
Happy Women's History Month! The Washington Commanders are thrilled to celebrate and honor the incredible women who have shaped our past and continue to inspire us today. This Women's History Month, we celebrate the progress we've made and reaffirm our commitment to championing gender equality and women's empowerment.
If you could highlight a female historical figure who inspires you, who would it be and why?
A female historical figure that inspires me is Madam C.J. Walker. She was an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and social activist who built a hair care empire catering to Black women. Additionally, she became a self-made millionaire through her innovative. She is the definition of a GIRL BOSS!

Describe what you do with the organization. What's your favorite part about what you do?
At the Washington Commanders, I lead the charge in connecting our players and team with the community in meaningful and impactful ways. From strategizing outreach initiatives to aligning players with causes they're passionate about, I ensure our team's presence goes beyond the field. I manage partnerships with 30+ organizations, oversee community-driven content and storytelling, and bring big ideas to life through high-profile events featuring owners, sponsors, and media. Whether it's coordinating league programs, hosting unforgettable experiences, or making sure every initiative aligns with our mission, I thrive on creating moments that leave a lasting impact.

Who are some of your greatest influences or role models, and how have they shaped your journey?
I am grateful to have many female influences and mentors who help guide me in my career, including women leaders in the Commanders organization. My greatest influence is my mom, a first generation Asian American who has achieved tremendous success in her professional career as an attorney, but never missed a golf match, dance competition, or football game that I cheered at. She is the Deputy General Counsel for a publicly traded company and in addition to being a huge football fan, she is an active leader in our community. She has shown me how to be a tough and successful business woman in today's corporate world while still making time for family and friends and community involvement. I appreciate my mom's supportive push to work hard, tell the truth, and never settle. I plan to continue to develop my professional and personal persona into someone who is hard working, resilient, funny, direct and honest, and fiercely loyal, with an energetic spirit - inside a person who still needs a stool to reach the top shelf! I hope the impact I leave empowers and inspires others to follow your dreams, exude confidence in every room you walk into, and be unapologetically yourself.
Who are some of your greatest influences or role models, and how have they shaped your journey?
Personally, my biggest role models are my parents. My mom—and my grandparents—grew up as passionate fans of the team, holding season tickets at Griffith Stadium and later at RFK. She instilled in me a deep love of sports, especially football, which has shaped who I am today. My dad is a hardworking lawyer whose intellect and work ethic have always inspired me.
In the world of sports, my role model is Serena Williams. Growing up playing tennis, I was inspired by her dominance, resilience, and ability to redefine greatness. With 23 Grand Slam singles titles, she is one of the greatest athletes of all time!
Kaelin Brittin - Associate Counsel, Legal
What legacy or impact do you hope to leave behind, both professionally and personally?
My hope is that my legacy is one of genuine compassion, positivity, and growth. One where I have dedicated myself to lead with love, kindness, and encouragement, while inspiring others to embrace their best selves. With my hard work and commitment, I hope that I've not only contributed to personal growth but worked diligently to leave every space and situation better than I found it. I hope that my impact is felt in the lives that I've touched and in the lasting improvements I've made, always striving to do my best in every endeavor.
Zandra Carson - Quality Assurance/Quality Control Manager, Operations
What legacy or impact do you hope to leave behind, both professionally and personally?
I believe the greatest legacy I can leave is pushing the boundaries for women in sports and entertainment and making my own unique mark. In an industry that has been predominantly male for years, the landscape is finally shifting. Women like me are stepping into leadership roles within NFL teams, while others are breaking barriers as coaches in the NHL, NFL, and MLB. It's inspiring to be part of this movement, paving the way for a brighter future for the next generation of women in sports and entertainment.
Dani DiMegio - Director, Stadium Events and Production
Describe what you do with the organization. What's your favorite part about what you do?
I contribute to this organization by offering creative visuals. I create visual narratives not only for football operations but also for many other departments within the organization. I enjoy bringing concepts to life and working on projects with people from different departments. As a Washington D.C. native, I enjoy telling the story of my home team.
Chastity Alston - Videographer and editor, Features, Content
Who are some of your greatest influences or role models, and how have they shaped your journey?
Both of my parents have been great role models for me, teaching me the value of hard work and service to others. My mom specifically has shown me how to be a strong woman in business while in a male-dominated field as she has spent 35+ years with the same Fortune 100 tech company. She does it all! I've also had several great mentors in my time here in Washington who helped me become a better teammate and leader.
