The Washington Commanders have released their full 2024 preseason schedule, including a pair of road games against the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins before wrapping things up at Commanders Field against the New England Patriots.

The Commanders' preseason opener will take place at MetLife Stadium against the Jets on Aug. 10 with a noon kickoff. Their matchup with the Dolphins will take place in Miami on Aug. 17 at 7 p.m. Their preseason finale against the Patriots will air on NBC with an 8 p.m. kickoff on Aug. 25.

WUSA9 will serve as the television broadcast partner for the Commanders' first two preseason games. The Commanders recently announced a partnership that increased coverage of the team through two new WUSA-produced shows, including a weekly pregame show and three Commanders-produced shows.

The Commanders will also participate in joint practices with the Jets and Dolphins before their preseason games. Dates and times for these practices have not been determined.

This year's preseason slate is set to provide several litmus tests for the Commanders in their first season of the Dan Quinn era. Aaron Rodgers, who missed essentially all of the 2023 season with a torn Achilles, is still considered one of the best quarterbacks playing today and a likely Hall of Famer. The Dolphins, who defeated Washington last year, 45-10, were a playoff team and boasted a top-tier offense led by Tua Tagovailoa. The Patriots are in a similar situation to Washington, finishing 4-13 in 2023 and drafting UNC quarterback Drake Maye with the No. 3 pick.

Preseason results should always be taken in context -- Washington finished 3-0 in the preseason last year -- but if the Commanders look competitive, it should provide some positive momentum before they travel to Tampa Bay, Florida for their season opener against the Buccaneers.
