For the next few weeks, Commanders.com will be looking at each position and highlighting some of the challenges they will face until the season begins. We'll start with the offensive line, which might be one of the team's most interesting groups. 

Single-digit jersey numbers are not a trifle thing at Temple. They are reserved for players who lead by example, both on and off the field, and represent the program's core values. Magee earned the honor twice, proving that he was a key piece to the Owls' success.

The exchange was impactful on a few key levels. For one, the two teams, who are so deeply immersed in their intense lines of respective work, got a chance to get out and learn about a totally different industry. Seeing these distinctions was enlightening. Just as eye-opening, however, were the many connections these groups saw between what they do in equipment for a football team and what they do in equipment for the Air Force.

According to his TCU offensive line coach, Coleman has the chance not just to play tackle, but thrive at the position in the NFL. 

Dan Quinn and his chief of staff Sarah Hogan, among others, believe deeply in the talent this program produces. A large part of that springs from their own commitment to making it as effective and educational as possible. The 2024 class of fellows, the first under DQ in Washington, have felt that commitment.

Jonathan Allen prides himself on being the first player to arrive at the facility each day and hasn't beaten Daniels yet. Zach Ertz said Daniels is doing a lot behind the scenes, and Bobby Wagner praised Daniels for putting in the extra work. 

It's still too early to predict how the group will perform in 2024, but at least the national perception has changed since Dan Quinn and Adam Peters took over. 

General manager Adam Peters said at the Annual League Meetings that he would be comfortable with Lucas as the starting left tackle if it came to that. Okay, but just how confident? Apparently, quite a bit, as the Commanders did not make a splash move at left tackle and stuck to their promise to give him a chance to win the job outright. 

The Commanders will host five open practices for all fans plus two additional open practices for season ticket members from July 28-August 6. Fans can claim their free tickets beginning Thursday, June 20.

McCaffrey wanted to do things on the field that weren't always feasible for his position. He wanted to hit people and make plays all over, not just from the pocket. Having that kind of impact required a position change, and since Rice had a need at wide receiver, McCaffrey's coaches decided to give him a shot. 

Jahan Dotson joined the Washington Commanders back in 2022 with high expectations for himself. He failed to live up to those standards last year. He's determined to get that sour taste out of his mouth as part of a new offense with a renewed sense of determination.
