The Washington Commanders have released defensive end Jamin Davis among multiple roster moves on Tuesday afternoon.

Davis, the No. 19 overall pick in 2021, appeared in 50 games with 36 starts during his four-year tenure with the team. During that time, he recorded 282 tackles, 10 quarterback hits, seven sacks and two forced fumbles.

With Davis' release, the Commanders will have an open spot on the 53-man roster.

The Commanders have also added two players -- safety Ben Nikkel and wide receiver Michael Strachan -- to their practice squad. Nikkel, an undrafted free agent from Iowa State, was with the Commanders during training camp. Over the course of his two seasons with the Cyclones, Nikkel recorded 43 tackles with three pass breakups.

Strachan, a seventh-round pick by the Indianapolis Colts in 2021, has six receptions for 130 yards in 23 games with one start. He was most recently with the Carolina Panthers, where he had a 45-yard reception against the Chicago Bears in Week 10 of the 2023 season.

The Commanders have also released safety Sheldrick Redwine from the practice squad.
