The NFL Draft isn't even a week old, but that hasn't stopped NFL.com from ranking all of the new rookies based on their projected impact on their respective teams.
The Redskins, it has now been widely claimed, got a steal in the draft taking running back Derrius Guice late in the second round, and their first selection of Daron Payne will instantly upgrade a defensive line that suffered its fair share of injuries to key players last year.
Understandably, both of them make the Top-25 on the list, providing more fuel for fans who have been boasting about the team's 2018 draft class.
NFL.com ranks Payne 13th, fitting for where he landed in the draft, citing his needed efforts to bulk up the defensive front.
"Running the ball against the Redskins just got a lot tougher thanks to the addition of the most dominant defensive tackle Alabama has had under Nick Saban. Yes, moreso than Marcell Dareus," Payne's summary reads.
Guice doesn't fall too far behind him, at No. 17, where his combination of strength and speed should give the Redskins a formidable player in the backfield that can handle the load in any situation.
"Based on talent alone, the former LSU star could've been the second running back drafted instead of the seventh," NFL.com writes.
