Game Status | Brian Robinson game time decision vs. Ravens

game status

Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. will be a game time decision for the team's Week 6 game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Robinson, who leads the team with 325 rushing yards on 73 carries, has been battling a knee injury for the past two weeks. He did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday in the leadup to the Commanders' home matchup against the Cleveland Browns but was at practice that Friday in a limited capacity. He was questionable for that game but did end up playing and rushed for 18 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries.

This week, Robinson was not on the practice field at all, casting doubt on whether he will be ready for Sunday's highly anticipated game against the 3-2 Ravens. Quinn said the team will take their decision right up to game day before determining whether they will need to make other arrangements for their ground attack.

Robinson barely played in the second half against the Browns, partly because the game was already in hand for the Commanders. Washington managed more than fine without their leading rusher, though, as the combination of Jayden Daniels and Austin Ekeler fueled a ground game that hung 215 yards and three total scores on the Browns. Ekeler had a 50-yard run that set up an eventual field goal, while Daniels led the team with 82 yards, highlighted by a 34-yard run on a fourth-and-3.

If Robinson cannot play, expect Ekeler, McNichols and Daniels to carry most of the load in the backfield. Washington could also elevate Chris Rodriguez Jr. or Michael Wiley from the practice squad for depth.

The Commanders will also get defensive end Clelin Ferrell back from injury this weekend. Ferrell has also been dealing with a knee injury that kept him sidelined for the past three weeks but did get back on the field Thursday.

Core special teamer Tyler Owens, who has been battling a shin issue, will be out for the second straight week.

Other players on Washington's injury report, including guard Nick Allegretti, linebacker Dante Fowler Jr., wide receiver Noah Brown, safeties Percy Butler and Quan Martin and cornerback Emmanuel Forbes Jr., will be available for Sunday's game.

Linebacker Jordan Magee and defensive lineman Efe Obada were participants for the second straight week, but Quinn is waiting to elevate one or both players to the active roster until he has a discussion with general manager Adam Peters later this weekend.
