After having what head coach Dan Quinn called "the best Friday we've had this season," the Washington Commanders are all set to take on the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship.
And they're doing so with a mostly clean bill of health.
Several key players on Washington's injury report this season, including Bobby Wagner, Frankie Luvu and Zach Ertz, will be available on Sunday when the Commanders kick off their biggest game in over three decades at Lincoln Financial Field. Sam Cosmi, who Quinn said suffered an ACL injury during the Divisional round against the Detroit Lions, is the only player ruled out
The Commanders will need all the benefits they can get against the Eagles, who haven't lost since the two teams met at Northwest Stadium in Week 16. Saquon Barkley has since surpassed the 2,000-yard mark, and he's been just as dominant in the playoffs with 324 yards on 51 attempts with two touchdowns.
Clelin Ferrell was on the injury report with a knee injury but will be available and lead a defensive front charged with closing running lanes. They managed to do that effectively in the second half of the Week 16 victory. Barkley still had 150 yards on 29 carries, but one-third of that came on a 68-yard touchdown. After that play, Barkley was held to just 41 total yards.
On offense, the Commanders will have their top tight end options in Zach Ertz (rib) and John Bates (shoulder). Ertz has been one of the Commanders' best weapons this season, as he is second on the team in targets, receptions, yards and touchdowns behind Terry McLaurin. Bates has been a reliable blocker and will help create lanes against an Eagles defense that has given up just 104 yards per game.
Tyler Biadasz and Brandon Coleman were also on the injury report but will be set to play on Sunday. The Commanders have more significant problems with their offensive line, though. They need to figure out a viable replacement for Cosmi and have considered starting Trent Scott, who stepped in for Cosmi against the Lions, at right guard.
Daron Payne, who was on the injury report with a knee/finger injury is questionable for Sunday's game. Defensive end Javontae Jean-Baptiste (shoulder) and quarterback Jeff Driskel (illness) will be questionable as well.
