Started by the Hall of Fame quarterback Bart Starr and his wife Cherry in 2017, the Starr Children's Fund raises funds to support childhood cancer research, treatment and caregiver support. One key way the Fund has done this in recent years is through Helmets for Heroes.

The Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award is the league's most prestigious honor and acknowledges NFL players who excel on the field and demonstrate a passion for creating a lasting positive impact beyond the game in their communities.

In partnership with the NFL, AED maker Defibtech, the Professional Football Athletic Training Society (PFATS) and health care supply distributer Henry Schein, the 32 teams around the league are donating AEDs to local high schools within each NFL club's city.

Left tackle Charles Leno Jr. ran a free flag football camp for girls aged 7-14 on Saturday, Oct. 7 at OrthoVirginia Training Center with the goal of promoting opportunities for girls in football. This year's event provided a unique opportunity for youth in the DMV. CASA DC works diligently to provide advocacy and mentorship to court-involved youth, primarily with foster children and juvenile justice.
