After departing the Inova Sports Perfromance Center in Loudon County, Va., in late June at the end of minicamp, Redskins players are now officially wrapping up their near six-week break ahead of training camp beginning on July 26. Here's a quick rundown of some the highlights from their time off.
Jonathan Allen
Allen spent the end of minicamp preparing the final details for his wedding on July 8 at the University of Alabama. The 2017 first-round pick married his fiancée, Hannah, in Tuscaloosa and spent part of their wedding at Alabama's Bryant-Denny Stadium where he played his home games as a member of the Crimson Tide.
Ryan Anderson
Anderson went back to his hometown of Daphne, Ala., and made an appearance at the Daphne Football Pro Camp. Along with NFL players Eric Lee, Michael Pierce and TJ Yeldon, the former Alabama linebacker helped coach youth players in his first year at the camp.
Kapri Bibbs
The highlight of Bibbs' summer was participating in a charity basketball game hosted by former NFL wide receiver Louis Murphy Jr. Playing on NBA player Marreese Speights' team, the 5-foot-11 running back competed against NFL talent and helped raise money for Murphy's foundation, "1st Downs for Life."
Tyler Catalina
Catalina spent part of his summer traveling with his family to Cape Cod. The 6-foot-6 guard posted on his Instagram that he felt that Trader Ed's was the "best bar in the Cape."
T.J. Clemmings
Clemmings had a meaningful summer. The 6-foot-5 tackle hosted his first youth football camp on June 16 at Hackensack High School, approximately nine miles from where he attended high school at Paterson Catholic in New Jersey. At a recent charitable event he attended with his wife, Christina, ahe also met Pro Football Hall of Famer Ray Lewis, and thanked him on Instagram for "dropping some wisdom."
Vernon Davis
Davis' summer is one he will remember for the rest of his life, but it's not because of what happened on the field. He proposed to his girlfriend by "popping the question" after skydivers landed on the beach and revealed shirts with the words "Will you marry me?"
Not only did Davis propose on the beach, he also spent Father's Day weekend with his family and now fiance' in the Bahamas.
Josh Doctson
Doctson returned to Fort Worth, Texas, and held his first youth football camp at TCU. While in the area, the third-year wide receiver also made an appearance at the National Fantasy Football Conference on July 14.
Fans had the opportunity to get autographs and chat with Doctson along with 200 other NFL players in attendance.
Quinton Dunbar
Dunbar spent his summer giving back to kids in need in his local area of Overtown. According to RedskinsWire, the fourth-year cornerback donated $12,000 to supply football cleats in his old neighborhood so that they can enjoy football.
Derrius Guice
Guice spent his off time giving back to people he cares about. He raised over $21,000 for cancer research by playing Fortnite with fans and hosted a bowling event in his hometown of Baton Rouge, La. on June 29.
Donating to the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Research Center, Guice felt called to set an example for those in his community. The former LSU running back also spent part of his NFL paycheck on a new SUV for his mother.
Kyle Kalis
Kalis enjoyed some country music with friends during his off-time. He attended a Kenny Chesney concert on his Trip Around the Sun tour and called it "a good time by all" on his Instagram.
Rob Kelley
Kelley returned to New Orleans to host his first annual youth football camp. The former Tulane running back provided free instruction to over 200 campers in attendance, giving away trophies to the camp MVPs at the conclusion.
Ryan Kerrigan
Kerrigan spent his summer in a variety of ways, from hanging out with his wife in Charleston, S.C., to attending the Home Run Derby in D.C. His charity work consisted of volunteering to assist Gatorade with a clinic at Thomas Edison High School.
At the clinic, Kerrigan's mission was to educate the athletes about training while staying properly hydrated.
Anthony Lanier II
Lanier gave back to his community in the summer by not only participating in charity events hosted by the Redskins, but on his own as well. The 6-foot-6 defensive lineman hosted a youth football camp for ages 6-14 that allowed campers to get individualized attention at their offensive and defensive positions.
In addition to running his camp, Lanier also hosted a golf tournament in Savannah, Ga., to raise money for his charitable foundation on June 28.
Colt McCoy
McCoy and his wife, Rachel, welcomed their third child on July 10. Although the gender of the baby wasn't announced, the former Texas quarterback indicated that "this one will probably be able to throw a football and ride bulls!!"
Josh Norman
Norman's busy offseason continued when he made a trip to San Antonio to deliver goods to migrant families. In addition to making the charitable trip to Texas, the All-Pro cornerback was a panelist at the Boys and Girls Club Keystone conference in Atlanta.
Along with his celebrity appearance on Dancing with the Stars, Norman participated in the Celebrity and Legends Softball game during MLB All-Star Week. He went 2-for-2 with two doubles while pitching for an inning at Nationals Park. The Coastal Carolina product wrapped up his summer with a trip to Jerusalem, visiting the Mount of Olives.
Daron Payne
After scoring his first career touchdown at the Sugar Bowl, the former Crimson Tide defensive lineman was honored with a frame of his game-sealing score at the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame in his hometown of Birmingham, Ala. Following that, the Redskins first-round selection traveled south to Ryan Anderson's hometown of Daphne, Ala., to participate in the linebackers' youth football camp.
Samaje Perine
The second year running back returned to Norman, Okla., in May to graduate after completing his degree in human relations.
"Records are made to be broken, but they can never take your degree away from you," Perine told Oklahoma Athletics. "There's nothing that beats getting a college degree."
Following his graduation, the Pflugerville, Texas, native celebrated his wedding anniversary with his wife Megan on June 23.
Orlando Scandrick
The veteran cornerback has spent plenty of his offseason vacationing in the tropics -- and who can blame him? He should arrive to the Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center in Richmond, Va., well-rested after his time in Mexico, Jamaica and Bermuda. He also rubbed shoulders with the stars at the ESPYs this year.
Brandon Scherff
The former No. 5-overall pick is a lover of the great outdoors, a passion he gets from growing up in Denison, Iowa, a town about 75 miles from the South Dakota border. He and his friends traveled to the Wisconsin river for a fishing trip where the offensive lineman snagged some "smallmouths" and "largemouths."
Nick Sundberg
After making the trip to Las Vegas to help cheer on the Washington Capitals earn their first Stanley Cup title, longsnapper Nick Sundberg flew across the Atlantic Ocean to one of Europe's most beautiful destinations of Santorini, Greece.
D.J. Swearinger Sr.
Looking to build off a season where he recorded a career high in tackles (61) and interceptions (4), the former South Carolina Gamecock continued his preparations for this season by traveling down to Miami to train with cornerback Quinton Dunbar. He also dropped some merchandise exclusive to his recognizable Twitter and Instagram handles of "Jungleboi_Swagg."
Zach Vigil
The Clearfield, Utah, native traveled up and down the western coast of North America as he experienced the "last frontier" of Alaska on a fishing trip and celebrated America's birthday with our neighbors to the south in Los Cabos, Mexico. He and his wife, Kaitlin, celebrated their first anniversary on July 16.
Tress Way
Of course, Redskins fans know the former Oklahoma Sooner is a phenomenal athlete, but this video is next level. Way and his family can be seen below at a pool party this summer making a variety of basketball passes off a golf swing before finishing it off with a dunk. In the Way-Turang household, everything is a competition.
Elijah Wellman
The West Virginia alum traveled to Canada for a fishing trip with his friends in early July, where Wellman fed a bear one of his fresh catches from the day. Thus, he should have no fear of going against 300-pound defensive lineman once the season begins.
Trent Williams
On the football field, the Oklahoma product continues to prove why he said he's going to be in pristine football shape once training camp begins. He and collegiate teammate Adrian Peterson both looked like they were rookies just entering the league in this training video. That's an extremely encouraging sign as the team begins camp this week.
