Redskins safety D.J. Swearinger, when asked in March which player he wanted the Redskins to take with the 13th overall pick, made it clear he preferred Alabama defensive lineman Daron Payne.
Well, more than a month later, his desire was fulfilled. The Redskins chose the big man up front and Swearinger was on of the first of his new teammates to voice his pleasure.
Payne joins his former Crimson Tide teammates Jonathan Allen and Ryan Anderson, who was understandably thrilled with the selection and the inevitable reunion, once again, with an Alabama player.
