Colt McCoy felt he did everything in his power during the offseason workouts and preseason games to secure himself a spot on the Redskins 53-man roster.
Ross said so following the Redskins preseason finale against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this past Wednesday night - a game that saw Ross catch two passes for 16 yards and one touchdown.
"I feel like I did enough to make the team," Ross said. "I gave it my all."
Ross was correct in his assessment of his work, because it indeed secured him a place on Washington's 53-man roster.
Upon receiving the news, Ross jumped on Twitter to let the whole world know he's in Washington to stay.
Ross admitted that he struggled early on during training camp and the preseason with some dropped passes, but he kept his nose to the grindstone and never stopped working to get better. All that hard work has paid off for Ross, as he now gets to run with fellow wide receivers Jamison Crowder, Rob Kelley, Ryan Grant, Jamison Crowder and Josh Doctson.
Ross believes his attitude and game will be full of more swagger this season, now that he's heading into Year Two with the Redskins.
"Last year I was coming in and getting my feet wet, not knowing what to expect, and just going with the motions and trying to be the best that I can be," Ross said. "Now having in having more understanding of this NFL period and, with kick returning and how I am supposed to read my blocks will make me a better player. Now, instead of me just going out there and being reckless, I have the brains with it. It's just getting reps and actually playing and getting that first year under my belt that will make me a better player for this year."
