There's less than a month left to meet the deadline for the "Redskins Read Challenge," which encourages students in grades K-6 throughout the D.C. Metro area to read 1,000 or more minutes from September 2014 through March 15, 2015.
For this annual challenge, hosted by the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation, once your child reaches the goal of 1,000 minutes, they can be nominated by a parent, guardian, teacher or librarian to be a "Redskins Read Challenge" Champion.
Each Champion will also receive a Redskins prize pack, and the school with the highest percentage of overall participation will receive the opportunity to host a Redskins Reading Rally at their school with a current or former Redskins player.
With the snowy, cold conditions persisting, it's the perfect time to start catching up, especially considering Monday, March 2, is "Read Across America Day."
There's just more than a month left to be nominated for the challenge. Don't let your child miss out on this opportunity! Nominations can be submitted here.
Any questions regarding the Redskins Read Challenge can be submitted directly to the Redskins Charitable Foundation via email at charitablefoundation@redskins.com.
