This past weekend Redskins Salute and the Women of Washington Redskins (WOW) joined forces with the USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore to assemble care packages for members of the military at the Redskins Pack 4 Troops event.
Current Redskins Bashaud Breeland and Rob Kelley, along with the help of former Redskins great Sanatana Moss, were among those that took part in the assembly line to help complete the care packages at the Inova Sports Performance Center at Redskins Park in Loudoun County, Va.
"It means a lot to be able to help them in a time of need for them as well as them fighting for us to be able to do this for them," Breeland said.
Robert Kelley enjoys giving back to the community and said, "It always feels good to give back to anybody. So much has been given to me so it's only right I give."
With the combined effort of Redskins Salute and WOW, they were able to put together more than 950 care packages of food and other items for the USO to help local active duty members and their families.
Moss is a mainstay at Redskins community events and never hesitates to give a helping hand to the members of the military.
"When it comes time and you hear and they ask if you want to give back to the troops or do anything in nature I don't think twice," Moss said. "I just go out there and say yes, because I know and understand what they do for us and it's incredible."
Those in attendance at the event also participated in a raffle with some incredible Redskins memorabilia, including a Jordan Reed signed jersey and a Ryan Kerrigan signed helmet.
