Is it ever too early to talk about fantasy football?
I suppose not, since NFL.com already has its list of the Top 200 players to consider in your draft six months from now.
Seven Redskins players make the list, though it's their position on that list that might make you want to raise your fist and hope a few months of reflection and training camp/preseason highlights make Michael Fabiano, the arbiter of this enterprise, change his mind.
The highest rated Redskins player is, naturally, tight end Jordan Reed, who comes in at No. 56.
Then follows: DeSean Jackson (70), Matt Jones (73), Kirk Cousins (127), Pierre Garçon (138), Alfred Morris (161) and, rounding out the list, Jamison Crowder (188).
Fabiano then does position breakdowns.
Quarterback: Cousins ranks No. 19
Running back: Jones ranks No. 28, Morris ranks No. 55
Wide Receiver: DeSean Jackson ranks No. 34, Pierre Garçon ranks No. 55, Jamison Crowder ranks No. 68.
Tight End: Jordan Reed ranks No. 3.
Kicker: Dustin Hopkins ranks No. 18
Defense: Redskins rank No. 21
Disappointed with these results? It's OK. There's plenty of time for Fabiano to reconsider. And if he doesn't, well, then you'll just know the real value of these players that everyone in your league is overlooking.
