Trent Williams Withdraws From Pro Bowl

!

Redskins left tackle Trent Williams will not participate in this year's Pro Bowl, currently leaving the team with no selections for the Jan. 31 contest in Hawaii.

Washington Redskins left tackle Trent Williams has withdrawn from the Pro Bowl and will be replaced by Miami Dolphins left tackle Branden Albert, according to the Dolphins' team website.

Williams, who started 14 games, was voted to the Pro Bowl for the fourth consecutive season. He was out with concussion symptoms in Week 6 against the New York Jets and sat out the regular-season finale against the Dallas Cowboys.

The Redskins' left tackle was the team's lone player to be named to the Pro Bowl. Williams played through a variety of injuries this season, including a bruised knee which he sustained in Week 11 against the Carolina Panthers.

The Pro Bowl will take place Jan. 31 at Aloha Stadium. Outside linebacker Ryan Kerrigan and tight end Jordan Reed were named as alternates, however it's possible they will be named to the roster depending on which team advances to the Super Bowl.

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski and Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen were both selected. Denver Broncos outside linebackers Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware are also on the roster, as well as Panthers outside linebacker Thomas Davis and Patriots outside linebacker Jamie Collins.

Of his four selections, Williams only played one time in 2014. Last year, he had a high left ankle sprain and aggravated it in practice prior to the game. In 2013 he was injured in a fight at a nightclub in Honolulu that he was not involved in.
