Last week, linebacker Perry Riley Jr. was the only defender to make the Top 5 list of best catches.
This week, Andre Roberts is the only receiver to make the Top 5 list of best runs.
With his kick-off return for a touchdown yesterday against the Panthers, Andre Roberts checked off a personal milestone and also, in the eyes of the NFL, had the best run in the league for Week 11.
With the Redskins down 14-7 at the time, Roberts took the kick-off at the 1-yard line and burst up the middle of the field. Using a quick cut to his right, he found a lane and then soared through it. Panthers running back Fozzy Whittaker looked like had a good angle around midfield to make a tackle but Roberts zoomed by him.
"It was a middle return for us and guys did a great job blocking," Roberts said. "There was a big hole there, and I just cut off some blocks, saw an opening, and took it to the house."
It was Roberts' first career return for a touchdown, and he totaled 177 total yards with three other returns for the remainder of the game.
"You try to make a spark for your team," Roberts said. "Unfortunately it didn't help us in the win column, but I try to do that any time I get my hands on the ball."
