Most of the media attention – during the NFL Draft, during the first week of practice, during rookie minicamps – in regards to offensive linemen has been directed towards Brandon Scherff and Arie Kouandjio.

And rightly so, when you consider their high draft status and pedigree.

But Austin Reiter, the 6-foot-3, 300 pound offensive lineman taken in the seventh round from South Florida, has been making sure to get noticed as well.

Reiter is surely competitive, but when it's come to getting to know Scherff and Kouandjio, as well as the many other new faces, he likes the camaraderie that's developed so far.

"It's been great getting to play with basically new everybody, getting to work with [offensive line] coach [Bill] Callahan for the first time, understanding what he wants from us, just getting to work with my new offensive linemen," Reiter said Saturday during rookie minicamps. "I think already we're a pretty close group. All the film studies at the hotel, we all do that together. We eat together so I'm really happy with the group of guys we came in with."

Reiter said that each night the group of offensive linemen will flip through their play packets and help each other with their new homework, picking each other's brain about schemes or directions, hoping he interprets things differently than the others.

"Coach Callahan's throwing a lot at us," Reiter said. "He's extremely detailed and he really works us. He really wants us to work to where we are really tired and we have to rely on our technique, second nature when we're not thinking about it.

"You just have to really trust what he tells us and I think that's something the group is doing right now."
