Yesterday we wrote about defensive end Jason Hatcher's comments regarding first-round draft pick Brandon Scherff.
In sum, they were good. Really good.
"He's already gained my respect," Hatcher told Larry Michael, Voice of the Redskins, on "Redskins Nation."
Wednesday night, Scherff, attending the Burgundy and Gold Banquet, said he was happy to know he had earned the respect of some veteran teammates.
"That's what you come in and want to do as an incoming guy. You know, you want to earn the respect of everybody, and that's what my goal is," Scherff told Redskins.com. "It's just nice to know I'm doing something nice, at least, and you've got to keep working off of that."
He met Hatcher briefly during workouts and hopes to continue the positive transition into the team.
"He just came up and introduced himself to me and said, 'Just relax and have fun with it, and keep working each day,'" Scherff said.
