NFL Network's Bucky Brooks has high praise for the Washington Redskins second-round selection, LSU running back Derrius Guice. Projected as a potential first-round pick prior to the Draft, Guice dropped to the Redskins at No. 59 overall.

According to Brooks, Guice ended up in exactly the right place.

"He ends up going in the second round, but he goes to the right team," Brooks said.

The Redskins nab exceptional value with Guice, whose talent and potential exceed his draft position.

"We talked about him being a possibility at 13 [overall] for the Washington Redskins, this is an A pick," Brooks said. "Guice is a first round talent - he is the perfect running back when it comes to his combination of speed, power and violence that you want to see. He does a great job of running between the tackles, slips out of contact, finishes in a nasty way."

Guice racked up 2,638 yards and 26 touchdowns over his last two seasons with the Tigers. He dealt with injuries during the 2017 season but still started 11 of 12 games. For Brooks, Guice's ability to play through his injuries only made him more impressive.

"The telling thing for me this year, playing with a hurt knee, this guy grinded it out," Brooks said. "You look at the tape this year, a bunch of four and five yard runs. The previous year he had the explosion, you can see the big plays."

Despite trading back in the second round, the Redskins still got their guy with Guice. A running back who boasts a first-round skillset, Guice will bolster a rushing corps that includes Rob Kelley, Chris Thompson and Samaje Perine

"He's going to be a terrific pro back," Brooks said. "I know he slipped, goes to the second round, but the Washington Redskins got a first round talent at a value deal."
