This week'sinjury reportis brought to you by,Inova Sports Medicine, the Official Sports Medicine Center, Partner & Provider of the Washington Redskins.

It's a been a particularly challenging start to the season for Redskins wide receivers, statistically, but more specifically, medically. Maurice Harris missed a few games with a concussion, Paul Richardson Jr. has battled with a shoulder and knee injury and Josh Doctson missed Monday night's game after missing practice with a heel injury. Now, another one of Alex Smith's targets is in question for Sunday's game against the Panthers.

Wider receiver Jamison Crowder is officially listed as questionable after he suffered an ankle injury in the team's matchup with the Saints last Monday.

"I think he needs to get up and run. I think that won't happen. A couple of these guys… I won't know until Sunday at about 9, 10 o'clock, when they get out on the field," head coach Jay Gruden said. "See if they can run and do some things. We have everything covered if they can't go but there's three or four of these guys on the list we have to wait and see on Sunday."

Richardson was kept out of practice on Thursday and had limited participation Friday, and is also questionable for Sunday's game. Wide receiver Maurice Harris stepped up in place of Doctson on Monday and, because he can play every position at receiver, may fill in for Crowder or Richardson is necessary.

Doctson is listed as questionable but has participated in practice on Thursday and Friday with some extra wrapping around his heel. Wide receiver Michael Floyd, who had limited playing time Monday, could be activated again for Sunday to provide more depth.

Left guard Shawn Lauvao did practice in limited fashion this week as he works back from a calf injury and is listed as doubtful, with center Chase Roullier rolling over to left guard and Tony Bergstrom handling center duties if he can't go.

"I think we need to see in practice and see how his calf holds up," Gruden said. "We just have to make sure that thing, he gets a little bit of work and make sure that thing can hold up on game day. If it tightens up at all today or tomorrow, then we'll probably hold him up. But we'll wait and see."

Along the offensive line, right guard Brandon Scherff, who's been practicing in limited fashion with a knee brace, is questionable, as is left tackle Trent Williams nursing his recently repaired knee.

"It's a lot of football, a lot of contact for these big men," Gruden said. "It's just something that these guys will have to fight through for the most part. I don't know if they'll ever be 100 percent but we just need them to get out there and focus on their job and play to the best of their abilities not matter how they feel."

At running back, the Redskins remain banged up from Monday night's game. Adrian Peterson sprained his shoulder, which kept him from most of the second half, and his knee and ankle are still recovering from previous incidents. He is listed as questionable for Sunday and so is Chris Thompson, recovering from a rib injury he sustained during the team's two-point conversion attempt.

"I think these questionables are all areas of concern," Gruden said.

Safety Troy Apke is the only player listed as out with the hamstring injury he suffered in Week 1.
