Defensive lineman Chris Baker spent the afternoon with linebacker Lorenzo Alexander at MedStar Hospital at Georgetown University Tuesday, surprising and giving away gifts to children there.

The visit was aided by non-profit Basket of Hope, whose mission is "to give hope to children diagnosed with cancer or other serious illness through the delivery of a 'Basket of Hope' filled with toys, games, craft items, stuffed animals, gift cards and other items."

Baker's Caption: "God is good. Stopped by to see Turan Caudle. He was shot in the head accidentally by his friends who was playing with a gun. The doctors said he wouldn't make it but God works miracles!!! He's walking, running, and talking, now leaving the hospital Sat."

Lorenzo was also there on behalf of his ACES Foundation, a chapter of The National Alliance of African American Athletes created to provide enrichment programs for youth.

Alexander, a member of the Arizona Cardinals, spent seven years with the Redskins. His best season came in 2010 when he compiled 57 tackles and 1.5 sacks.

"Had a great time today at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital giving away gifts to the kids," Baker wrote. "Keep them all in your prayers."
