Coincidence? Fate? Luck?
Whatever you call it, Redskins Hall-of-Famer Darrell Green's visit to Redskins Park on Friday may have been one of the key components to the team's signing hot free agent cornerback Josh Norman.
"They ushered me back there to say hello to him," Green said on Sirius XM this weekend. "I probably sealed the deal for him."
Green wasn't really invited to make a sales pitch. He happened to be checking in on his former teammate Doug Williams to coax him into signing up for his golf tournament in June. Norman and his family had arrived just a little earlier that day. That's when Green took advantage.
"I like the kid. I like him," he said. "My son was a rookie with him in Carolina, so I was familiar with him… I think he's going to be of good value for us."
You can imagine he was wearing his finger jewelry at the table, just to drive home the point.
