Lincoln Memorial at midnight!!

There are a certain amount of boxes that need to be checked when visiting Washington, D.C., in order to rattle them off to family members and friends to assure them you witnessed the city's history and postcard attractions. Maybe you don't even have a full day planned to walk around the National Mall to soak up its history. As long as you snap a few photos to document your visit, that's all you really need -- for conversation's sake.

This is what new Redskins safety David Bruton Jr. did Tuesday night, well, really Wednesday morning. While maybe he didn't experience the grandeur of the city's monuments in full daylight, he at least experienced them up close and without a crowd – a better if not slightly false experience of what his new town has to offer.

Washington Monument!! So much history and power here in DC!!

But now Bruton is set. When he comes back to Redskins Park for offseason practices and the media gets done asking football questions and starts asking about his transition from Denver to the east coast, he'll get to say "Yeah, I visited Washington, D.C. I saw the monuments at midnight. I took some photos of the White House. I gazed up at the Washington Monument. I said hello to Abe Lincoln."

After all, Bruton is coming back to D.C. with his former team soon to shake the President's hand. He needs to show his ex-teammates the lay of the land.

The White House!! I'll be back inside here in a cpl months!!
