David Bruton Jr. might have been invited back to his alma mater this weekend for being a Super Bowl winner, but that didn't mean he was going to wear his former team's apparel.
Instead, taking his son on his visit to Notre Dame, he donned his Redskins cap and wore it out onto the field with ex-teammate Ryan Harris (now a member of the Steelers) as honorary captains for the annual Blue-Gold game.
"It's amazing, it's always been a special place and every time I come back I absolutely love it," Bruton told WNDU. "It's been great. Great support, great love. The ND family, they definitely support their former players and they absolutely embrace us and we embrace it back. It's definitely enjoyable."
He collected 213 tackles in his four-year career with the Irish along with seven interceptions and a sack.
And, if you're going to give your son a tour of your former stomping grounds, you have to make sure he upholds the same traditions.
