Redskins safety DeAngelo Hall underwent successful knee surgery on Monday, according to his post on social media.
Throughout the morning Hall had tweeted about going under the knife and posted a photo to Instagram in the hospital waiting room with his wife before heading to the OR.
Hall tore his right ACL in the third quarter of the Redskins' Week 3 matchup with the Giants at MetLife Stadium, which an MRI confirmed the Monday after the game.
Throughout this ordeal, however, Hall, who turns 33 in November and is in his ninth season with the Redskins, has remained positive and active. Not easy for a player dealing with his second season-ending injury in three years (he tore his right Achilles tendon near the start of the 2014 campaign).
That's meant embracing his role as dad with each of his four kids, all of whom are engaged with some form of athletics and their first month of school.
Last week, instead of making his daily trek to the Inova Sports Performance Center at Redskins Park, Hall spent some time with his oldest son and his classmates out to dinner.
"Hanging out with my son and his classmates!!!!!!!!!!! Don't look at it as a bad thing," Hall captioned on Instagram. "Getting hurt affords me more time with the ones I love. I even get to watch my son last football game, and he's been killing it this season. God is good all the time and all the time God is good."
Later, he shared a video of his daughter practicing her tumbling on their trampoline.
"I can't tumble right now but that doesn't mean I can't help coach up my baby girl," he wrote.
Here's to a speedy recovery and, as Hall writes on his post, to touching that football again.
