Redskins fans have appointment viewing two nights in a row this November.

The first comes on Thanksgiving, when the team hosts the New York Giants, playing a home game on the holiday for the first time in franchise history. The second comes the following night, at 9 p.m. E.T. on Nov. 24, when NFL Network premieres "Joe Gibbs: A Football Life."

This is the seventh season of documentary series, which "examines the iconic individuals and subjects that have had an undeniable and profound impact on the history of the National Football League, offering an inside look at their untold stories."

Joining Gibbs this year will be Dan Marino, Emmitt Smith, John Madden, Wes Welker, Sam Mills, Jim Kelly, Larry Fitzgerald, Eddie George, Jerry Jones, Aeneas Williams, John Randle and the dup Lynn Swann and John Stallworth, with each episode airing on Friday night, beginning Sept. 15.

Gibbs's legacy will finally be given a proper tribute, recognizing his impact in the game and to the franchise. In 12 years, the Gibbs-led Redskins compiled a 124-60-0 regular-season record and a 16-5 record in 21 post-season games. His combined .683 winning percentage is surpassed only by Vince Lombardi (.740) and John Madden (.731).

Gibbs is also the only coach to have won three Super Bowls with three different quarterbacks: Joe Theismann (XVII), Doug Williams (XXII) and Mark Rypien (XXVI). Under Gibbs, Washington won 10 or more games eight times and had only one losing season (7-9 in 1988).

Upon retiring from football in 1993, he became a major success in motor sports with Joe Gibbs Racing and returned to coach the Redskins for brief stint in 2004.

This will be must-see TV, and hopefully a nice way to celebrate a Thanksgiving victory.
