When the going got tough, legendary Washington Redskins wide receiver Art Monk was at his best.
As part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame's #MondayMotivation Twitter series, they put out the above line from Monk.
You probably would have never noticed when times were either easy or tough on Monk, because he always approached the game the same: with a workman-like attitude that made him one of the most popular players in franchise history.
Drafted by the Redskins with the 18th-overall pick in the 1980 NFL Draft, Monk would spend his first 14 seasons with the Redskins, recording 888 receptions for 12,026 yards and 65 touchdowns.
He also earned three straight Pro Bowl appearances from 1984-86.
After being named a finalist seven times, Monk was finally inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2008 alongside the greats of the game, right where he should have been from the beginning.
