If you're still blown away by the one-handed, acrobatic interception Redskins cornerback Quinton Dunbar snatched against the New York Giants this past Sunday, you're definitely in the majority, as it was one of the most incredible efforts of any NFL player in Week 3.
The gentlemen over at NFL Network's "Move the Sticks" – Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks – were impressed by what Dunbar did against the Giants too. In fact, Jeremiah and Brooks were so taken by Dunbar's interception, that they ranked it No. 3 on their "Top 3 Interceptions from Week 3."
Brooks had great description of what Dunbar did on Sunday in their podcast, as he looked through his telestrator.
"Quinton Dunbar down at the bottom of the screen taking on the tight end [Giants tight end Will Tye], gets his hands in his chest, looks through the receiver to see if [Giants quarterback] Eli Manning is getting ready to let go of the ball, jumps in front, snags it with his left hand; one hand pick. Man that's one for the highlight reel. Quinton Dunbar delivered," Brooks said.
Dunbar spoke after the game, and said he was in the right place at the right time in order to get the pick.
"I just went out there and played my technique," Dunbar said. "I just put my hand up. I just located the ball and got my hand up and made a play. On third down, [Redskins head] coach [Jay Gruden] came up to me and said, "[we're] gonna make it and [we're] gonna call this play so be ready." I focused in and when they called the play, I made the play."
