Maybe it's just the Michigan State connection, but Jack Conklin didn't hesitate when he was asked which quarterback he would like to protect this coming season.
"I'd say Trent Williams," the left tackle NFL Draft prospect said on NFL Network.
"A Michigan State guy, coming on the scene, playing really well, it would be awesome to play for Kirk and protect him."
The chances of that happening? Well, not as assured as his answer.
Conklin was a walk-on to the Spartan's program. Three years later, he was named a 2015 first-team All-Big Ten selection along with first-team All-American honors from The Sporting News and USA Today.
Now, he'll be in attendance for the first night of the NFL Draft, something he couldn't even dream of in high school.
