According to Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer along with others, new Redskins wide receiver Evan Spencer was the team's Most Valuable Player.
As told to Cleveland.com, Smith believes Spencer was the guy because if you tell him to do something "you just tell him once and he'll do it."
"He handles his business on and off the field," Smith continued.
And while Spencer recorded just 15 receptions during the championship campaign, Smith said Spencer never once complained.
"He never trips on the coach, 'Why am I not catching the ball?'" he said. "All he wants to do is win. You can see it on his face after every game we've played. We won and there's a big smile on his face."
Linebacker Joshua Perry, meanwhile, said there's tape to back his status as team MVP.
"You turn on the film and he doesn't get targeted a ton, doesn't have the most touchdowns on the team, most receptions, most yards or whatever," Perry began. "But great special teams plays, clutch plays when we need them, great leadership, selfless player. When you have a guy as talented as him who does all those things even though he's not getting the stats that he wants, that's why he's the MVP."
