What tight end Jordan Reed did on Thanksgiving against the Cowboys was nothing short of miraculous, especially considering what everyone learned following his MRI the next day.

Reed collected 10 passes for 95 yards and two touchdowns, the majority of which – eight catches, 80 yards and both scores – came in the second half, after Reed had suffered a grade 3 AC joint separation at the beginning of the second quarter.

Reed said after the game, still in serious pain, that he only needed a few passes from Colt McCoy on the sideline before the second half started to test out his range of motion. With adrenaline pumping and the game on the line, Reed willed himself to return to action.

It certainly caught the attention of Pro Football Focus, who awarded him with a 93.4 score, the best point total for tight ends in Week 12.

"You won't see many better receiving performances from a TE than Jordan Reed managed against [Dallas] on Thanksgiving," they write. "Reed beat six different Dallas defenders for catches and hauled in one spectacular one down the sideline despite being held at the time."

That one-handed 33-yard catch (arguably a contender for best catch of the year) was his first grab since returning, a premonition for how the rest of his game would go.

Reed said Monday that the range of motion in his shoulder was only 30 percent and that he would monitor its progress day by day this week.

"I don't think it could be hurt any worse than it is right now," Reed said. "It's just one of those things where I'm going to have to go through the pain for a little bit."

It should also be noted that Brandon Scherff also received the highest point total for right guards with 82.2.

"Thanksgiving had its fair share of standout performances and Washington's Brandon Scherff had an excellent game against the Cowboys," they write. "Scherff allowed a hit, but it was the only pressure he surrendered across 56 snaps of pass blocking, and in the run game he was by far the best performer on the Redskins line."
