There will be position battles aplenty once the Washington Redskins get to Richmond, Va., in two weeks for training camp.

One of the most interesting battles that will take place will be between the members of Washington's secondary, all of whom each have a chance to make the 53-man roster.

In keeping with the topic of defensive backs, Pro Football Focus' Matt Claassen took time to rank every secondary group in the NFL, and the Redskins' group came in very high on his list at No. 8.

Claassen looked into his crystal ball and projected Washington's starters for the season: cornerback Josh Norman, cornerback Quinton Dunbar, slot cornerback Bashaud Breeland, safety DeAngelo Hall and safety David Bruton, Jr.

As far as names to look out for, Classen named four players: cornerback Jonathan Allen, safety Will Blackmon, cornerback Greg Toler and safety Duke Ihenacho.

A key stat Claassen mentioned about Norman was the fact that he allowed a league-low 54.0 passer rating into his coverage during the 2015 regular season.

"What a difference a couple of years can make," Claassen said. "Washington made the big splash to sign Norman [Panthers] after his unexpected availability. Breeland made a significant improvement in year two, with 11 passes defended [tied for ninth-most in the league last season]. With six touchdowns allowed, he still needs to get a little more consistent, though."

Hall's heading into his first full season as Washington's starting free safety, having moved to the safety postion midway through the 2015 campaign.

Hall loves the move from cornerback to safety, saying it's "rejuvenated" him and his career. Claassen wants to see more out of Hall in his new position before he makes a final decision on him.

"It will be interesting to see how Hall performs at safety with an entire offseason to get adjusted to the position," Claassen said. "He was beaten a few times in his first games at safety last year, but improved over the last three games of the season."
